Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Greetings from MinneapolisNEXT as we report that America’s schools are business as usual, moving forward in the fall term. In 2001-02, NEXT is again playing a role in this investment in the future by providing 14 scholarships in local private high schools. Romone Penny, a NEXT scholarship recipient and senior at DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis, exemplifies the goals of NEXT, as many outstanding colleges and universities are recruiting him as a prospective student. Truly, chance favors only the prepared mind.
Additionally, in 2001, NEXT sent 20 young people to summer camps, and provided program tuition to 20 young women at a local dance school. This year, NEXT will invest over $50,000 in our community, all while keeping administrative expenses under 10%. From providing tutors to dance lessons, we are succeeding, but more importantly, we are providing determined students and parents with choices.
MinneapolisNEXT is now beginning our annual fund drive, with a goal of raising $100,000 in the fall of 2001. Please call us for more information or to arrange a personal meeting. NEXT is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that is eligible for matching contributions from many employers and organizations.
Help us build our community, one dream at a time.
On behalf of the Board of Directors,
Rexford Holland
President, MinneapolisNEXT
